Leading digital money transfer service WorldRemit is proud to be sponsoring the 5th Annual National Youth Skills Development Expo, supporting the professional development of the next generation of Ugandans.
The company is working in partnership with the Youth Advocacy Foundation Uganda (YAFU) and the Uganda Youth Network (UYONET).
The WorldRemit team will also be attending this year’s Youth Expo on 6th October at the Uganda Museum, Plot 5, Kiira Road in Kampala. Budding entrepreneurs will be given access to training and mentorship, so they can develop key professional skills.
To kick off its youth partnership, on 21 April WorldRemit will hold workshops and seminars at ISBAT University.
This unique platform will let young people network and learn – whether they’re starting out, or looking for advice on how to grow their business. They will have the opportunity to connect with mentors from the private sector, civil society, government and international development agencies.
With hundreds of thousands of Ugandans in the UK, and millions in the global diaspora, remittances play a significant role in the country’s economy. According to the World Bank, Uganda received over $1 billion in inbound remittances in 2015.
