Troubled public transport company pioneer easy bus limited says they will be back on the road by next week if they manage to conclude their discussions with KCCA on the concessions the latter had promised them in the agreement, which include dedicated bus lanes on the road, among other things.
In a statement, the company whose buses were impounded by URA over an 8 billion shillings tax debt says they stand by the agreement they signed with KCCA and KCCA should also do the same.
Citing the fact that over 2million people in Kampala use public transport, pioneer says the buses are really needed on the road and its these negotiations that will see to that.
Experts have however warned that it will be very hard to implement the contract especially the dedicated bus lanes on Kampala’s small roads
