Uganda’s top incubation, collaboration and co-creation space for techies stand a chance to earn a grand prize of USD 500,000 in equity investment with Seedstars World (SSW) making its debut in Uganda today.

Outbox’s founder Richard Zuluthe (host) and a number of Ugandan tech businesses including M-DUKA who solving vendor problem and user accessibility, Remit; an international money transfer app, Xente a money transfer start-up, Shop247 an online shopping startup and Inforex who providing real time forex information among others tussled it out for the regional win.
According to Zulu, the Outbox Hub is setting itself as an idea’s think and do-thank and a collaboration community for developers, entrepreneurs, mentors, advisors and venture capitalists.
Seedstars World is the most exclusive startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes. Based in Geneva, Switzerland and founded by Alisee de Tonnac and Pierre-Alain Masson, it is supported by the venture builder Seedstars SA.
Making its debut in Uganda, Seedstars World is coming to Kampala for its twelfth event of the 2014 tour. This year, SSW have partner with the Outbox, where the event is being hosted.
2013’s tour of 20 cities ended with a final round in Geneva, where the most promising startups from all over the world competed one last time in front of an international jury to earn the final grand prize. Flitto, an innovative crowdsourcing translation platform from South Korea nabbed first place.
